The facilities at the hotel were excellent, with top-notch housekeeping and beautiful grounds. The location of the hotel was very convenient, offering easy access to nearby attractions and a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge. We particularly enjoyed the friendly and welcoming staff, who made us feel at home during our stay.
This resulted in some inconvenience and did not meet our expectations. The accommodations were not as well-maintained as we had hoped, with tired-looking rooms and some noticeable flaws in the walls and bathroom.

The burger at the restaurant was mind-blowingly good! Taking a short hike to the top of the GG bridge provided jaw-dropping views from our room. The free coffee and muffins in the morning were super convenient and we loved enjoying them on the porch in the rocking chairs while people watching. The staff were extremely friendly and the complimentary shuttle into the city was like having our own personal "taxi" service. Our excellent room had a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the best chips we've ever tasted. The property layout and historical significance were impressive, and having the option of a suite gave us extra room. The nice glass of wine and cheese and crackers in the fridge upon arrival were a great touch. The proximity to the city and the view were unbeatable. The bar area was fun, with great hostesses and bartenders who were all super friendly and made excellent drinks.

Location was excellent, with views of nearby Golden Gate Bridge. San Francisco skyline was also visible across the water. The room was large and very comfortable. The setting was lovely and peaceful.
The meals, though well presented and tasty, were overpriced. If we stayed there again, we'd probably go out to restaurants in Sausalito.

We equally enjoyed the view from the glass-enclosed porch of our historic building of the San Francisco skyline and the stunning panorama of the bay under the Golden Gate Bridge.

Converted officers quarters at Fort Barry, very comfortable, great location near Golden gate bridge and Sausalito, food excellent if a tad expensive. San Fransciso can be cold even in summer
While the buildings are well maintained little seems to have been done to beautify the grounds - which detracts from the overall impression of the place
